Notes

* Scope 2 boundary · DEFRA classifies this as Scope 2 only for the electricity-generation component of EV charging. Use it when the reporting organisation purchases the charging electricity within its inventory boundary; transmission and distribution losses and upstream energy-supply emissions are Scope 3. A journey in a vehicle outside the organisation’s ownership or control is generally reported using the relevant Scope 3 travel or freight factor instead. For a PHEV owned or controlled by the organisation, petrol or diesel combustion is Scope 1 and is not included here.
