DEFRA 2025, Long-haul flight — Average passenger (WTT), Factors by Category sheet, ID 22_912_3168_11_1
Derived from direct physical activity measurements (litres, kilometres, kilograms). The most accurate approach where activity data exists.
Radiative forcing (RF) · Radiative forcing does not apply to well-to-tank emissions from aviation-fuel production and distribution. DEFRA provides With RF and Without RF source records so the WTT component can match the selected direct-flight record, but both WTT options have the same value. Add the WTT value once.
* Scope 3 boundary · This well-to-tank factor is a separate upstream-fuel component of Scope 3 Category 6 business travel and covers aviation-fuel production and distribution only. Add it once to the matching direct Scope 3 Category 6 air-travel factor when reporting both stages. Category 3 applies instead when the reporting organisation purchases aviation fuel for aircraft it owns or controls.
